NYSE Euronext

Re-engineered a considerable number of Perl based live data collection mechanisms.  These reported on the health of the infrastructure, as well as market activity.  This was necessary, as Euronext had been upgrading the trading platform (Connect), and required accurate statistics regarding its performance.

Constant monitoring required collating a large volume of data from various sources and committing to MSSQL servers.  I constructed a re-usable .Net framework and implemented a front end to allow non technical users to access this data.  Provided training to enable my colleagues to build new tools, with minimal effort.

Constructed a mechanism to allow administrators to easily produce charts, and automate publication to interested parties.

Introduced a number of best practice directives, including: coding standardisation, source control (Subversion), and documentation.

Main clients: Euronext, Chicago Board of Trade.
